When you join Ape Chronicles Fan Club you get to vote in our next poll.
HERE OUR ARE 3RD ANNUAL READERS POLL RESULTS
Ape Chronicles #13-18 were part of our latest survey by our fan members.
Marvel's Magazines and Adventure's POTA title were the big winners in our poll with 4 awards each. Most spectacular however was the recognition given to Roddy McDowall this year. He won best actor for both the films and tv. He was also recognized with our biggest award. He was chosen as this years recipient for the POTA Honour Roll. The original film and Jeff Krueger both came out with two wins.

J - IMPORTANCE OF APE CHRONICLES - Pota is a unique thing to like, so we meet unique people - communication, correspondence, self expression...it is the only good way for ape fandom to keep in touch
K - REASON MIGHT DROP CHRONICLES - a drastic price increase...if the club went juvenile...my death...too much emphasis on new film-more than original
L - CHANGES FOR THE NEW MOVIE: judge it on its own merits avoid pointless comparison, give us as much coverage as possible but dont ignore classic apes...have a regular section that lists stuff related to it and have people make lists of what theyve found...none, i dont think any more than 1 or 2 pages to the new film per issue, it may be pota, but not the classic pota i love...please dont get taken over by the new film.

E - THE HYPE OF A NEW MOVIE: it is a costly enough hobby without dramatic rockets in price...im not sure that classic ape memorabilia will be that affected. I imagine that fans will have trouble keeping up with new stuff...its too bad prices will go up but theyre too high already, but there will be lots of new stuff and everybody starts out even...don't like it but a new appreciation for original films would be good
GENERAL POTA QUESTIONS:
A - PROMOTING POTA #1-APE CHRONICLES #2-Marvel #3-20th Century Fox
B - HONOUR ROLE RODDY MCDOWALL
C - MAIN INTEREST IN POTA: #1 - The 5 Films (35 points) #2 - TV Show ( 24) #3 - Comic Books (18) #4 - Magazines (18) #5 - New Film (15) #6-Memorabilia(15) #7 - Cartoon Show (9). The films were unanimously voted #1.
D - FAVE PRIMATE: #1 - Gorilla #2 - Chimpanzee #3 - Orangutan #4 - Mutant
E - OPINIONS ON NEW MOVIE DIRECTION: 'm crazy about it except what Schwarzenneger might do to it, I wish Stone was directing...at first i thought how could they, now i'm comfortable that the new movie is a separate entity and I look forward to it...i'm not looking forward to it if it goes according to press reports...im excited and pleased about a new film but I dont believe it will come close to topping the originals
F - WHY SCI-FI - i like to see things that i'll never see for real...it can explore sensitive issues that would be touchy in a contemporary contect...it's the only kind of story that can hold my attention
G - WHY POTA - it's part of my life now and i still love it...it corresponds to my philosophy about mans egotism and pettiness...i seem to have a fascination with post apocalyptic stories-it teaches morals and philosophy yet entertains like nothing else
H - IS POTA SCI-FI: Yes 100% because...it sticks with things in the scientific canon instead of making up creatures...space ships, time warps and mutants...it is a futuristic space adventure based on scientific theories
